Suspected hantavirus outbreak kills three on cruise ship
A suspected hantavirus outbreak aboard the cruise ship MV Hondius, operated by Oceanwide Expeditions, has killed three people and sickened at least three others while sailing in the Atlantic Ocean. The World Health Organization confirmed at least one case of hantavirus infection, with five more suspected cases under investigation. The ship, carrying approximately 149-150 passengers from 23 countries, is currently anchored near Cape Verde, where local authorities have barred passengers from disembarking.
