White House Correspondents Dinner Shooting Suspect Identified
A shooting incident occurred at the White House Correspondents' Dinner at the Washington Hilton hotel, where President Donald Trump and other senior officials were in attendance. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California, rushed a security checkpoint armed with a shotgun, handgun, and knives, exchanging gunfire with law enforcement before being subdued. A Secret Service agent was struck but protected by a bulletproof vest, and acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stated the suspect appeared to be targeting Trump administration officials.
