US-Iran nuclear talks postponed amid tensions
Planned US-Iran peace talks in Switzerland were postponed after Vice President JD Vance canceled his trip and Israel launched intensified strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon, killing at least 18 people. The talks were meant to build on a 14-point memorandum of understanding signed earlier in the week, which established a 60-day framework for negotiating a comprehensive nuclear deal. A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah was later agreed on Friday, raising hopes the negotiations could resume.
