Navy Secretary John Phelan fired by Pete Hegseth

Navy Secretary John Phelan was fired by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, with his departure effective immediately, as announced by Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell. Phelan, a businessman and major Trump campaign donor with no prior military experience, reportedly clashed with Hegseth over shipbuilding reforms and other internal disputes. Navy Undersecretary Hung Cao will serve as acting secretary in his place.
