US imposes 50% tariffs on Canadian goods after talks fail
The United States imposed 50% tariffs on approximately $20 billion worth of Canadian goods after last-minute trade negotiations collapsed late Friday night. US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer countered that Canada had walked back commitments and introduced new demands, derailing a deal that had seemed within reach earlier in the week.
