US imposes 50% tariffs on Canadian goods after talks fail

The United States imposed 50% tariffs on approximately $20 billion worth of Canadian goods after last-minute trade negotiations collapsed late Friday night. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney suspended talks, blaming unfair and uneconomic last-minute changes by the US side, and vowed to match the tariffs 'dollar for dollar.'
