Russian missile strike kills 17 in Kyiv Ukraine
A Russian ballistic missile and drone strike on Kyiv and surrounding regions killed at least 17 people and wounded dozens in an overnight attack. Ukraine's air defenses failed to intercept any of the incoming ballistic missiles, with President Zelenskyy attributing the casualties to a critical shortage of Patriot missile interceptors. Russia claimed it targeted logistics hubs and military supply centers, while Ukraine said the strikes hit civilian infrastructure including warehouses, a brewery, and a railway station.
